Return Of The Mack Intro Loop [mp3]

I had a phenomenal Saturday night.  I was back home with all of my best pals and lady pals.  Carpet threw an afterhours party at his house and 20 of us crammed into his tiny kitchen, where we proceeded to drink, dance, sing and do the splits (Tannis!).

We cranked a lot of fun, sing-a-long tunes that night.  The song that go the biggest response was Mark Morrison’s Return of The Mack.  Specifically, the beginning of the song where the beat kicks in and he wails “Whooaaaaa-ooooo-ooo-oo”.  It proved so popular that we kept rewinding and playing that part over and over and over, wailing along every time.

Next time this happens at a house party, I’m prepared.  I’ve created an mp3 of the intro seamlessly looped over and over.  One and a half minutes of pure euphoria. You may want to download a copy for yourself.

Walking into a baseball stadium’s seating section is the best feeling in the world. At least for this fan.

For the Blue Jays, this is an immediate upgrade over Jose Bautista, a player projected for a mid-90s wRC+ and poor defense in the corners – a combination that results in roughly replacement level production. The Jays have acquired a player who could potentially become an asset and a contributor for essentially no cost. The risk is minimal, and a potential reward is there. For the Blue Jays, this is a no-brainer, and for the Giants, it’s a head scratcher. -

FanGraphs: Fred Lewis To Toronto

Wait, that’s bad! Bautista’s my favourite Blue Jay! And I don’t want him in the infield. Keep him in right, like my favourite Blue Jay of all time, Jesse Barfield (also a mediocre hitter with some pop and a strong arm)!

Brutal attendance at Jays games, and the season barely started. Give them a chance to prove they’re going to stink this year at least? Good time to be a baseball fan in Toronto, though. Guaranteed seats to see the best players in the world!

The Baseball Road Trip of a Lifetime
Navin Vaswani is traveling to 30 cities and 30 ballparks over the next 60 days. He started last night at the Blue Jays Home Opener and is in Detroit watching the Tigers take on the Royals as I type this.
Follow along as Niven makes the trip every baseball fan has spent long winter hours dreaming of. You can also follow his adventures on twitter too.
And you know what? If you see him in your city, show him some hospitality and buy him a beer, would ya?

It breaks your heart. It is designed to break your heart. The game begins in the spring, when everything else begins again, and it blossoms in the summer, filling the afternoons and evenings, and then as soon as the chill rains come, it stops and leaves you to face the fall alone. You count on it, rely on it to buffer the passage of time, to keep the memory of sunshine and high skies alive, and then just when the days are all twilight, when you need it most, it stops. - Fmr.
