The ridership looks great, but that was opening day. Coupled with that, rides were free for the day, so we had lineups around the block. Stephen Rees, our local transit export, has a rundown of the ridership issues for the new line. In other words, it will look nothing like it does in the video for some time (though it may conceivably have packed trains during the Olympics next year).

For Transit Stanzas: Vancouver opened a new subway line yesterday, the Canada Line.

So next to NYC, Vancouver seem to have it pretty big. It seems to get just as much bashing and resentment as it does praise and coverage. This really makes me wanna venture up to Vancouver for a spell and just relax. You are SO awesome for sharing this.
