Atlanta Braves misunderstand the infield fly rule
With two runners on for the Mets (on first and second), José Reyes pops it up in infield. All four umpires call Reyes out, the rule in place to prevent a deception which leads to a double- or triple-play. At least two Major League Baseball players thought they had to tag the batter-runner Reyes (wrong, he’s already out), so the Braves’ catcher threw the dropped ball to first with nobody covering home. The runner from second goes all the way home. Heads up baserunning (and third base coaching) all around combined with a complete collapse by the Braves’ defense. Wacky play.
